Helping Carla Recover

My name is Maria and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my sister Carla Bell, her husband Michael and her 15 year old daughter Brooke. In May of this year, Carla was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer which was found during a routine colonoscopy. We are looking to raise money to help pay the out-of-pocket costs that have begun to stack up from not only her surgery and week-long hospital stay, but from the many office visits, scans and blood tests that insurance does not cover. Despite the tumor being successfully removed, she is still undergoing testing and related scans/procedures/treatment for other related issues. Additionally, any money raised will also go toward supplementing Carla's income. As many of you know, Carla is a talented hairdresser, it's something she loves to do. She was already out of work for an extended period of time for her surgery and associated recovery, but her additional procedures and testing will likely add additional time away from work. The goal is that while Carla continues to work with her team of doctors to ensure she is recovered, she is not also burdened with the worry of her new found financial obligations. We hope to lessen Carla's burden and allow her and her family to concentrate their energies on what is most important: staying positive and working through her recovery so she can return to a normal sense of life.
