Chief Michael Morra Detainment

Donation protected

Chief Micheal Morra was detained in the Country of Thailand on 11-23-2019. Mr. Morra was on an assignment for General Electric Company in Thailand to help maintain the country's electrical infrastructure. A General Electric Company employee and a member of IUE-CWA Local 1140 Mr. Morra travels extensively for work. Shortly before his departure flight to get home to his family the security at Bangkok Airport whist him away and arrested him. They charged him with contraband in his checked luggage, a single bullet. Mind you that he had to pass through stringent security in the United States before he left on the flight to Thailand some weeks earlier and nothing was found.  I can't believe I have to say he is innocent. This man is the salt of the earth.

He was detained in a cell without a bed or toilet and without enough food of water to sustain physical and mental health. He was forced to sign documents he could not read and was being threatened, berated and abused. Bail was set at $3000.00 and quickly moved to $12,000 if he wanted a "positive police report." for a judge. He was in a the cell at the airport for a few days.   General Electric sent an attorney that was to take Mr. Morra to a courthouse to pay his bail. The attorney filled the paperwork out incorrectly and Mr. Morra was immediately taken by authorities to a Bangkok Prison and placed in general population starving, sick and dehydrated.

Once in the prison mistreatment continued. He was given unclean water to drink and  only blurry eyed fish heads to eat. He was forced to sleep on a dirt floor next to murderers and rapists. He urinated in a corner of the cell and also was forced to defecate there as well. The cell was so crowded that when you attempted to sleep you touched at least three other inmates. He was threatened, coerced, stressed and without his prescription medicine. He quickly became delirious as malnutrition, dehydration and sleep deprivation was slowly depleting his strength; his life. Insects feasted on his weakened body while germs and fungus his immune system never before encountered started to weaken him from the inside out. After a few grueling days another attorney successfully paid his bail (monies supplied by his family), but Mr. Morra was arrested again because his work visa expired. Back to a detention center again. Currently Mr. Morra is unable to leave the county and is in a hotel provided by his employer.

With all this happening to Mr. Morra the family is without their patriarch and the money he usually provides. Couple this with a furnace that broke down, other family emergencies, normal bills and now increasing amounts of bail and mounting legal fees and it is easy to see this family needs your help.

Chief Morra is the leader of the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, a position he has held for 20 years of the 30 years he has fought fires and saved lives. He has instilled the  virtue of  giving back to the community in his son, Dominic. He too is a volunteer firefighter mentored by his father. If your house was on fire and your loved ones trapped in a burning building Chief Morra and his son Dominic would charge the gates of hell to save your loved ones. And they have done it many times. Now, it is incumbent on us to suppress the flames that burning this great family.  We cant solve all the problems, but we can give the family one less thing to worry about. Please give generously!

Monies will only be available to Mr. Morra's wife and his son.
