Helping Chinook Jargon Teacher Continue Teaching.

David Robertson has been a champion of Chinook Jargon/Chinuk Wawa for around three decades. He has given of his time and talents and has rarely asked for remuneration. He has made outstanding discoveries about this language and has worked tirelessly to educate the public. From the "silent IT" pronoun, to the 2 diverging dialects, to the endangered Chinuk Pipa alphabet, to 5 1/2 years of free online lessons and 12 years of daily blogging, Dave has researched deeply and shared energetically.

David Robertson is a single father of 4 children. Over the past few years, he has experienced some significant legal and medical expenses that have led him to reduce his commitment of time to the valuable Chinook work he does. Some of his fans and beneficiaries have been asking him for some time if he would allow them to launch a Go Fund Me Campaign. David has been very resistant to this, as he wants to be self-sufficient.

David has only agreed to allow such a campaign to happen because it would enable him to apply himself with more energy towards his research and education related to Chinook Jargon/Chinuk Wawa.

So, remember that David believes he will be able to cover the costs of the legal and medical expenses he has incurred with much time, hard work and commitment. But he also believes that if some people are in a position to contribute, and are interested in seeing him devote more energy and time to this language he is passionate about, then he would gratefully receive it and put in even more effort than he currently is. He is especially committed to writing a complete curriculum for beginners which will be shared free of charge.
