Chris segen apartment fire fund

Two years ago, we had the tremendous good fortune to meet and welcome into our sit stay family an incredible Great Dane mix named Murphy. Murphy was an oversized, goofy, funny, loving, playful dog. He would go nonstop all day and then pass out with his one eye open like a cyclops at night on his dad's couch.
Earlier this year Murphy's dad approached us and was looking to start a dog walking business after his company downsized. Knowing that Chris could handle large, goofy dogs we asked him if he would be interested in helping us out at daycare along with doing dog walks.
Many of you have met Chris. He is always ready with a smile and a joke. He's efficient, he's helpful, he's great with the dogs and we are so happy that he came into our lives.
Chris's apartment caught fire last night at 1 AM. Smoke detectors were hardwired into the building and did not go off. By the grace of God, Chris woke up to investigate a strange smell. When he opened the door to the mechanical room the flames threw him back and quickly overtook the apartment. Chris fell to his knees and began searching for Murphy in the places where he usually sleeps. Murphy wasn't there. Chris went back into the house three times before the fire department arrived and got Murphy out. They tried to revive Murphy for 15 minutes but he died from smoke inhalation. Murphy was found laying on the floor on the other side of Chris's bed.
We lost a very important part of our pack today to an incredibly devastating set of circumstances. Our friend Chris has lost everything. All of his belongings were destroyed in the fire. Everything can be replaced. Murphy cannot. Chris was at work today because he said that Murph would have wanted him here to see his friends. If you see Chris, please offer him a hug or a kind word. If anyone is interested in helping Chris out with donations, it would be greatly appreciated.
