Helping Christina Stroup’s Family

Christina knows now and is so grateful to you all!* I have witnessed Christina struggle with financially caring for her mom and Nana, quietly, gently for the 8 years I’ve been her best friend. Christina lost her dad when she was a toddler and Rita and Nana have been her rocks her entire life. Christina does not know I am setting this fund up. I want to send this privately to some people I trust, and then with her permission post publicly. Christina has a heart of gold. She is an out of work Equity actress due to Covid, who earns all of her money as an actor, high school director and voice teacher. Right now she is working doubles in a restaurant local to Duluth, MN while also part time at a boutique. 

Christina recently posted a particularly vulnerable post to her FB and I just want to copy/paste it below because her own words truly explain her situation far betterthan I ever could. My goal here is to alleviate the financial burden she is facing right now so that maybe we can get her down from 7 days a week at work to a solid five. I am concerned for her physical health and safety and I want to help ease this situation if we can! This money will go directly to Christina’s mom and grandma’s living expenses. “Full disclosure moment:

I currently support my family in Texas. A lot. I send my mom more than half her rent every month. I buy her groceries via instacart. I do whatever her and my grandma need. Some people know I do this, most people don’t. I also support my family here in Duluth. This is why I work 7 days a week. This is why I don’t see any of you. This is why I am always working. This is weighing on me. I’m exhausted all the time. I am doing what I can. Again, I apologize that I am not more engaging and reaching out. I get home and I eat and sleep, then get going for the next day. I’m sorry I’m a recluse. I’m sorry I’ve seemed to have disappeared. All I ask is to send me some prayers, some positive thoughts, really anything. I’m a 31 year old actress in her biggest dry spell since I was 13 with no hope in sight. I’m waiting tables to make due. I’m working in a gift shop. I’m doing whatever I can.
