Helping corey with his recovery

So I'm just going to let everyone know what we have been going through the last few weeks.I haven't messaged everyone back who has messaged me I just haven't had the words to say so thought I'd update everyone on here with Corey's permission.

3 weeks ago corey had his tonsils out to be sent for a biopsy (results back benign ) no further treatment.

Long story short corey was rushed back in hospital (Leeds) with a major bleed the surgeon struggled to stop the bleed and was very traumatic( his words) managed to stop the bleed but kept corey on a ventilator with the plan to wake him in the morning when they took the breathing tube out it all went wrong corey had no airway and went in to cardiac arrest he was with out oxygen for 10 minutes we was took in a room and told to prepare ourselves no one knew what the outcome was going to be he made it but we was told he could have brain damage 5 days past corey didn't respond he was on life support and for the next 2 weeks didn't respond finally he started to respond we are now in a position where corey is going to have to learn to walk talk eat again he is going to be transfered to a rehabilitation center hopefully soon. corey is now making progress his speech is improving but still on a feeding tube it is heartbreaking having your son cry and ask to come home knowing I can't bring him home and don't know when I can its early days but he's still with us and I could not be prouder of him and what he has overcome so far I love my boy so much just want him home I just want to thank Courtney Backhouse for bring there every step for corey nothing has been too much for her and what you have seen these last few weeks has been horrendous but you stayed by his side even through the tough times thank you so much

corey is going to need alot of equipment to help him with his recovery and some adaptions will be needed at home for him to come home safely so any donations appreciated to support us xx
