HELPING DALE GET TO MADISON, WI
Donation protected
I am creating this on behalf of my father Dale Rhodes who is currently battling end stage COPD.
In 2012 my father had a massive pulmonary embolism which left him in a medically induced coma for over a week. Thankfully, he was able to wake up from this coma and continue to breathe on his own but unfortunately that was not the end of his battle - within the next month in the hospital they discovered he has severe COPD and his lung capacity was decreasing very rapidly. As of today he is down to 20% left of his lungs.
My father is veteran who has been working hand and hand with the VA hospital in Fargo, ND in hope's of becoming a transplant recipient - after months of completing all the testing we finally got word that he has passed all of his tests here in Fargo and that he is to now go to Madison, WI (only VA Hospital in the area that does this surgery) so they can make their final determination on whether they will or will not accept him as a candidate.
As you can imagine this is very exciting news but it is also very stressful financially. My mother is one of the hardest workers I know but she unfortunately does not get paid time off at her job - my hopes of setting this up is to ensure they are able to make bills meet while they're away and to cover any of their expenses while they are there.
This means so much to me and my family and I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read, share and donate.
