Helping David Moffat

Our team member David Moffat received devastating news on December 1st, 2022. His aggressive form of cancer has returned, and David’s doctor has given him a diagnosis of Stage 4 with no chance of recovery, as it has now spread throughout his body, including his lungs.

David was diagnosed on June 7th, 2022, with a rare cancer called “Locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma.” On August 10th, 2022, they performed surgery on David to remove the tumor and take some lymph nodes out for testing. The testing of the lymph nodes came back clear, and they informed David he would need radiation treatments but should be able to avoid chemo. He remained positive and continued to perform his duties as though nothing was wrong. Unfortunately, on December 1st, David received the devastating news that the chemo treatments would most likely not be effective in treating his cancer, and his life expectancy has diminished to one year.

David is 54 years young, has so many hopes and dreams and looks forward to sharing special moments with his family. Through this all, David remains positive and cherishes every moment with his family. He is the primary provider for his family and a loving husband to his wife of 17 years. He’s a father to a beautiful daughter and son, he’s a son and a brother, a grandfather to two beautiful grandsons (one more grandson due in Feb) and a valued colleague at BGIS! David became a part of the BGIS family three years ago as a building technician. He was soon promoted one year later to Maintenance Team Lead (MTL) for FMZ 1 in the Ontario Portfolio. David is happy in this position, enjoys working with his team and has no plans of leaving anytime soon!

David needs our help fighting this monster! He will pursue an alternative treatment called the Joe Tippens Protocol, with the goal of living every day to the fullest!
