Helping Elizabeth Wachsberg with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Anyone who has spent more than 60 seconds around Elizabeth can appreciate that she's a positive force, with her amusing observations and anecdotes, and eagerness to laugh with others and even at herself quite often. As you all know by now, Elizabeth has hit a challenging time in her life (but is still rocking her chipper disposition) and she could really benefit from the emotional and financial support of friends and family right now.
On March 14th, Elizabeth was admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain. Several days later she received a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, with spots spreading to her liver. She will be starting chemo immediately, to continue for 2 - 3 months until the doctors determine it is safe to operate. At that point she will have surgery to remove a tumor from her colon and to remove one lobe of her liver. After she's recovered from the surgery, she will do an additional 3-4 months of chemo (to total 6 months of chemo).
As some of you may know, this is not the first time that cancer has invaded Elizabeth's life. When she was just 4 months old she lost her mother to Lymphoma. And, at only 2 years old, Elizabeth fought her own battle with a rare form of cancer (Adenocarcinoma of the Submandibular Salivary Gland). She is tough but even the toughest people need to lean on others at times.
In addition to medical expenses, Elizabeth will not be able to work during this time - which will be hard for someone who loves her work more than anyone we know! Any contribution that you can make to help her with her expenses is very much appreciated by Elizabeth and everyone who loves her.
