Helping Emily kick cancers butt !
Let us share a little bit about our courageous, beautiful and funny sister, Emily. Right now, she is in full battle mode with ovarian cancer. After countless hospital visits, operations and chemo she is showing cancer who's boss.
In just under a year, so much has changed for Emily. What began as a few doctors appointments for symptoms that were severely misdiagnosed and ignored. It has now turned into major life changing surgeries and an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Emily's Low- grade serous ovarian cancer diagnosis is a rare ovarian cancer that can be hard to treat and disproportionately affects younger women.
Whilst putting up the biggest fight of her life we are hoping to make a few things a little easier for her. As some of you may know, Emily is already rocking the bald look and is adjusting to life changing stoma surgery. She has battled her way through surgery to remove all the cancer which meant having a full hysterectomy and life altering surgery on her bowels and stomach. As she starts on the chemotherapy process to ensure that no rogue cancer cells are left in her body, we are hoping that with the help of some comforts in the form of clothes, wigs and self-care supports we can help with this incredibly stressful time. A donation will go towards all of these things and more to help make this crazy battle a little less unbearable.
Emily's also inspired to support other women in the future who are going through this same difficult process by donating whatever she uses to charities so that they too can begin to feel more like themselves.
We want to thank you for taking the time to read this and for anything that you can share, be it words, a donation and any favourite memory you have of Emily so that we can keep her smiling ☺️.
With love, Aimee & Lydia
Please also take some time to educate yourselves on some of the signs and symptoms of this type of cancer. We are hoping to raise the awareness of this type of cancer so that anyone with ovaries knows how they can advocate for themselves or their loved ones if they are ever in need. ❤️
