Helping fellow Recon Marine heal from addiction

At some point in our lives, we will all fall on hard times and need a helping hand to get us through. I am raising money to help a close friend and fellow Recon Marine that I served with as he works to recover from a difficult addiction.

 

We have been fortunate to get him into an excellent rehabilitation program that specializes in helping veterans address addiction and mental health issues, however, my friend will be spending at least 45-90 days in this program and will be unable to work during this time.

 

My goal is to raise $5,000 which will go towards covering his mortgage, vehicle payments, and other bills while he is away healing. It’s so important that he is able to focus on his recovery and not worry about debt he is accumulating or a financial burden he will be coming back to after his treatment.

 

All of the money raised will be used to meet these expenses. Any remaining money will be donated to organizations that help veterans in similar situations: Paddles for Troops and Recon & Sniper Foundation.

In order to gain support and awareness of this fundraising campaign, on Friday, April 22, I will be swimming 13 miles around Wrightsville Beach, NC.
