Helping Gazans seeking medical care in Jerusalem
Donation protected
Since October 7th, 2023, referral of patients and their companions from the Gaza Strip to reach scheduled medical appointments in the West Bank have totally stopped. Crossings remain closed due to the hostilities resulting in a total of 71 persons from Gaza (36 patients and 35 companions) locked in hotels in East Jerusalem provided by Augusta Victoria Hospital. In addition to 26 persons (patients and companions) locked in the hospital’s different departments. Out of those 36 patients, 15 have already completed their treatment and are waiting to return to Gaza along with their companions as soon as the crossing borders open.
In addition, due to the hostilities in West bank and the closing of several checkpoints between WB and Jerusalem, several haemodialysis patients (adults and paediatrics) and radiation treatment had to stay in the hotels to ensure that they receive their kidney dialysis and radiotherapy treatment on time. As of today, a total of 22 patients and their companions from West Bank are residing in the hotels for that purpose.
Please note IU personally have no connection to the hospital or the patients and I'm doing this as a concerned citizen of the world. The money collected will be transferred by bank transfer to the hospital. The hospital will then use the funds to treat patients that have financial constraints.
