Helping Gregory's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
We are the Ozone Park Residents Block Association-ozpkrba, advocating for the Della Cruz family, NEE: Allocco.
They have roots in Ozone Park, having lived in the same house since the early 1920s. The mother has worked at Sugar Bun for 18 years and still does.
Sadly and horrifically, on the morning of June 1, 2024, an ordinary ride to work ended in tragedy when Gregory's motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer that was carelessly crossing 3 lanes of traffic to try to exit the highway much too late. Gregory never knew what hit him. The senseless actions of one man devastated the whole family, leaving behind a void that could never be filled.
He leaves behind a grieving family that is trying to make sense of this tragedy.

Here is his BIO: from his family
It's been said that "All people die, but not all people live" Gregory lived! He packed so much life into his 26 years. He traveled across the country, learned to fly planes, and started his first business at the young age of 15. That business evolved from a trailer hitched behind a bicycle to him owning a mobile bike repair truck that he named "BikeRescueNYC" by the time he was 22. Through this, Greg got to touch the lives of so many people both young and old. He would repair bikes for kids and the elderly of the community free of cost. He believed everyone should enjoy the feeling of riding.
Grefory was always willing to help someone out. A real "Mr. Fix It." He could truly repair anything and had a tool for everything.
Greg was one of a kind. An old soul with a heart of gold, he left an impression on everyone he met.
The OZPKRBA is proud to represent this family in their hour of need. We have assessed this situation and feel that as a community, we can all step up and help someone who not only has deep roots in Ozone Park but whose family has given back so much, especially through their son Gregory.
James Romanell--Stephen Funeral Home has stepped up to discount the costs, and we want to help as a community to give back. ALL monies will be for funeral costs ONLY. When we reach the amount needed, we'll close the go-fund-me. We will not accept money after we reach the goal. We have verified all costs associated with this funeral, and everything has been negotiated in good faith by the OZPKRBA.
Please share-reshare-post-repost on all your social media platforms. On behalf of the family, we say thank you ahead of time for your generous donations.
In Closing:
"What is a community for if it isn’t supposed to help people when something terrible happens when none of the choices looks good."
This is our chance to show our community support to a family that is mourning the loss of a very good, loving, and caring son, sibling, nephew, cousin, friend, and neighbor.
