Helping Hand for Harriett Hartley

Hi, my name is Steve Hartley. My family and I are raising money for our eldest daughter, Harriett. Harriett is 22 years old and has recently been diagnosed with bile duct cancer, an extremely rare occurrence for someone of her age.

On the heels of being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and a liver disease called PSC, she has undergone a constant battery of testing, treatments, and disappointments up to this point. Harriet has been courageous and strong. We are so proud of how she is moving through all these health complications as an otherwise healthy, happy, vibrant young adult.

We ask that you will consider supporting her in this season as so much of her treatment has not been covered by insurance and there is a long road ahead.

Her very capable medical team at Vanderbilt are united and hopeful, but we need your help.

The funds that you generously give will be used to cover the backlog of medical bills not covered by insurance up to this point and the extensive surgery and hospital copays that are inevitable in her fragile situation.

The recovery time from this surgery scheduled for later this month is four months. At that time, they will assess her prognosis which likely will include further treatment. We will keep you abreast of any updates as and when we receive them.

You have no idea how much your support means to us. Harriet is a special and beautiful soul. She loves nature, music, and animals and passionately cares for her family and friends. She has an inquisitive mind and a huge heart. We love her so very much.
