Helping Hands for the Ashmans

Early last week, my Grandpa Carl was sent to the ER and hospitalized because of a nasty infection, but it turned into many different surprise issues, leading to a an emergency 5 day ICU stay in Ft. Wayne and his second surgical procedure in less than a month.

Right now, he is still at Parkview and he will stay there until at least the 20th. When he goes home, he will still need a lot of care from my grandma, Linda Ashman. Because of everything that has happened, my grandma has had to take a lot of time off of work and will likely have to take more time off in the coming weeks to continue to care for my grandpa.

These last couple of years, my grandpa has had many different medical scares that have been mentally, physically, and financially burdensome on my grandparents. Because of that, we have decided to start a GoFundMe to hopefully be able to offer some financial support to try and eliminate one of my grandparent’s major stressors.

They would never want to ask for help, but if you know them at all, they are the world’s kindest and most compassionate people who have organized help in a similar way for their friends and family in times of need, so now we feel it is our turn to return the favor and remind them that it is okay to be on the receiving end.
