Helping Hands for the Dagleys

This is the fundraising page for Jonathan and Jaidra Dagley.

On April 20 the Dagleys started their day by fighting a massive fire alongside their family and the local fire department on their ranch in North Dakota. An uninsured outbuilding which operated as a multifunctional building for two families and their businesses was decimated along with it's contents, at least some of which, including essential equipment and tools, was insured. An additional greenhouse, owned by Jonathan's parents, was also lost in the blaze which contained the majority of the inventory for Faulker's Market. (The support page for Mark and Lynette Dagley can be found here: https://www.youcaring.com/markandlynettedagleyfamily-1172703)
That fire appeared to be contained and there was a lull in the action, until a rogue ember ignited the SW corner of Jonathan's parents' house (also on the property). Jonathan rushed to limit the damage and in the process sustained extensive burns to 15% of his body including his face, arms, hands, back and legs. He was rushed to the hospital in Bismarck where he was initially assessed and then airlifted to Regions Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota which has a world class Burn Center.
The extent of Jonathan's injuries is yet to be determined, and answers will become more concrete when the dead burned skin is loose enough to remove, projected to be assessed Tuesday April 24. If there is not enough remaining to grow itself then skin grafts will need to be administered. Either way the journey of physical healing is going to be months long and working is not going to be an option for some time.
As of yet the needs are not certain but many of you have been asking how to help and how to give.
Here are the needs that are known and those that are yet to be determined.
Known:
- The outbuilding/shop is going to need to be rebuilt before the winter months hit so that there is adequate space to work on equipment. The Dagleys have limited funds at this point to be able to do that out of pocket.
- There will be some degree of loss of income. As well as the Ranch, which Jonathan runs along side his younger brother Michael, Jonathan owns and operates an Excavation business which will not be able to generate income this summer even though he already had several jobs lined up. The ranch will still be operational. Their current monthly needs are around $3500 not including the $25 dollars a day for meals at the hospital for Jaidra.
Possible:
- They will reach the end of their Medicaid cycle in May. So at this point it looks like Jonathan's medical bills will be covered but they are unsure if there are going to be any copays they will need to cover out of pocket.
- The insurance adjuster has not yet visited the property to assess the value of the equipment and tools lost. Their current coverage is $110,000 but anything above that will have to come out of pocket to replace, IF they even max out their coverage.
- Jaidra is currently planning on staying by Jonathan's side in St. Paul, a little less than 500mi from their 6 children. So far other family members have been able to step in and meet the needs of Jaidra and Jonathan's kids but it is unsure what that will look like long term especially as it is unknown how long it will be until Jonathan is discharged from the hospital.
(All funds raised will go towards expenses incurred due to this accident and GoFund me fees. Some needs may not be directly explained in this description)
Thank you in advance for your prayers, support and donations!
