Helping hands needed for a family in distress.

A true, self-made, self-taught craftsman, creative visionary with an innate sensibility for haute design and the tactical know-how to bring it to life, a man of uncompromising integrity and loyalty, a man whose warm smile, enveloping, light-hearted spirit, and firm hug has unexpectedly left us.

We read about tragedy every day—it literally surrounds us 24/7. It orbits us in such an intimate way, I’d go as far as to say we all are somewhat desensitized. That is until it strikes home. When it shifts from them to us, we cry, we play a slideshow of memories of our beloved. We move slowly, feel heavy, lack motivation, feel a lack of control, and a sense of helplessness.

Jose’s death has left us all baffled and profoundly sad. We are left saying, “how can we help?”
I’m here to make it easy. We don’t possess much control in this life, but the modicum of control we DO all possess lies in our collective generosity.

Let’s skip the flowers and open our wallets. Let’s skip the casserole and instead empty our pockets for this family. At the time like this, the most we can do for the Gonzalez-Magana family is to allow them space and time to grieve--offer a financial shield from the nagging and relentless demands of the world while they rebuild their lives. We CAN provide them this sanctuary. This IS in our control.

He has two young sons, Jose (Junior) Daniel Gonzalez Magana, 13, and Damian Gonzalez Magana, 6, and a loving wife, Rocio Magana Becerra. They need our collective support. Our beloved Jose was 42, in the prime of his career, working tirelessly every day as the primary provider for the family. I don’t need to tell you that the sudden absence of his contributions will be felt. Let’s soften the blow.

Life is precious, fleeting, ever so unpredictable, often brutal, and often beautiful, but what unites us all is love, the fundamental principles of community, compassion, the ubiquitous quest for human connection. It’s true; we have power in numbers. I’m reaching out my hand. Will you join me?

Let’s rally around this bereft family and offer them some financial peace of mind—give them a cushion to exist while they grieve. Let’s lead with compassion. Let’s make Jose proud. Let’s serve up this family a bounty of beauty. Let’s lead with love.

Rest in Peace, Jose! We got your back.
