Helping Hands Non-Profit Funding
Donation protected
We are a small group of Dartmouth College alumni working to file for 501c3 status for our nonprofit, The Helping Hand Initiative. The Helping Hand Initiative was developed in light of the George Floyd protests and the erupting momentum of the Black Lives Matter movement. Within the exceedingly clear racial divisions of our country lie systemic socioeconomic disparities that continue to disadvantage minorities, and these disparities have only continued to deepen during the Covid-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately affected the Black community and small businesses. As a nonprofit our primary goals are to financially support and highlight the service and backgrounds of the small businesses we work with.
Money raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used for legal consultation fees and the state filing fees for 501c3 status in California.
We have worked hard to form a board of directors and set up potential corporate donors so that we can hit the ground running once we attain non-profit status. This initiative is intended to be a vehicle of support for the businesses that our communities need the most. We hope to encourage small businesses to continue to develop and grow their community despite the racial, social, and economic barriers they may be facing.
Thank you so much for your support in helping us reach our goal so that we may file to become a non-profit and serve our communities that need the support most. If you are unable to donate, we would appreciate you sharing this link across all social media platforms.
