Helping Hannah Heal and Have Babies!

Hannah is a bright, smart, talented young woman who has been recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer. She works as a medical assistant in Surgical Oncology and dedicates her days to cancer patients, most of whom are fighting the same type of battle that she is about to face.

Hannah has health insurance, thankfully. She will be able to have treatments. But insurance only covers so much.... and did I mention that Hannah is only 27 years old???

In the prime of her young adulthood, Hannah is forced to think about the potential side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, like losing her long, beautiful hair, pain, neuropathy, potential skin and digestive issues and more. On top of that, at 27 years old, she may lose all of her viable eggs and not be able to conceive after her treatments are complete.

There are lots of wonderful integrative therapies for cancer patients these days, including therapies that aid in easing the burdens of side effects. She can even save some of her eggs for potential baby-making down the road. But these therapies and solutions are not covered by her insurance. She can't use her FSA to pay for egg storage, and she can't use PTO for rent, food, car payments.

Yes, some of the alternative therapies can be covered by insurance, but let's be realistic; most cannot.

Hannah has a tough road ahead, and to be honest, only the basics are going to be covered by insurance and paid time off from work. Let's make sure she can take the time she needs to handle treatments, maintain her current standard of living, pay her bills and save her future babies!

Hannah works diligently for her patients, her coworkers, her department, and in turn, her community. She shouldn't have to walk this road alone, or without certainty that she has everything she needs to CRUSH this cancer and move on.
