Imagine yourself in a life-threatening situation where everything you have ever worked hard for has been taken away from you in the blink of an eye. This scenario is a reality for many families stripped from their possessions, where homes and businesses were destroyed on September 28, 2022.
On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian landed west of Fort Myers, Florida as a Category 4 storm.
Hi, my name is Esther Victoria Toribio. I am the Founder of The V. Estates, a real estate service under the brokerage Lifestyle International Realty/The Calderin Estates. As a local real estate agent, I desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Nothing moves my heart more than sharing real-life stories and in this case, of two families affected by Ian.
Through networking, I met Paola from CocoyCabana, a boutique store in Sanibel that was destroyed during the Hurricane. Paola connected me in communication with these two families we will have the opportunity to serve.
Meet S*.
S* is a wife and a home-school mother of five. Her husband's place of employment was washed out. Their home was destroyed. Thankfully, they have found a temporary 2-bedroom apartment for the next seven months. When learning more about their family, S* expressed their most urgent expense is monies to cover rent.
Meet W*.
W* is an elderly woman and primary caretaker for her 6-year-old grandson. W* has thus relocated to Naples in a temporary apartment. W* expressed concern about the distance in taking her grandson to school in Sanibel. Additionally, W* stated she is looking for assistance in relocating closer to Ft. Meyers or Sanibel, preferably a 2B/2B. In the meantime, she needs monies to cover the temporary housing rent.
The sentiment could be resonated through the other end of the phone. And while I may be located in Miami, Florida, distance is not an issue to ever collaborate and collectively bring HOPE miles away to our brothers and sisters.
To all my donors, I will be periodically providing you all a status update on progress to meet the needs of these families!
Any little bit counts.
