Helping Jess choose to Dance
Donation protected
As each of us travel through life, our paths often find a fork in the road making us decide which direction to go. We have to make choices. Sometimes those choices are made for us. On December 8, 2016, at the age of 35, Jessica’s journey took an unexpected 90 degree turn. She was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer. It goes without saying that such an event rocks you to your core. Those who know Jessica know her passion and love for life. From the very start, Jess has continued to face each challenge with that same passion and positivity. She is an inspiration. While this is not the path she would have chosen, she has chosen the mindset in which she will travel along this path. “Why walk, when you can dance?” she said one day, in her typical upbeat, fun loving tone, talking about life. And so she has chosen to dance her way through this latest challenge with all the passion and zest for life that we love about her. We invite you to dance along with us. It is here we hope to provide the music she dances to, through the love and support of family and friends. We are choosing to dance. Because we have that choice. And why not.
In June 2017, Jessica was told she has become a surgical canidate. She is scheduled for surgery in August 2017!!! We hope to use these funds to support Jessica and her family through her preoperative and postoperative period so that they can focus their time and efforts on her recovery. Any funds above what they would need would be paid forward to fund research and public education about the increasing incidence of colorectal cancer in young adults.
