Helping Joe to get back up on his feet, literally
Donation protected
Hello, I am Ana, Joe’s wife. We have been married for almost 24 years and for the last few years Joe has been struggling with medical challenges. Because of diabetes he had toe amputations on his left foot, (2018) kidney disease that put him on daily peritoneal dialysis (which I help with) and a stroke that affected his right side, these last two started in 2019.
Just when we thought he was closer to a kidney transplant, he had an accident that ended with a wound on his heel that did not heal.
On May 27, he went under surgery for a below knee amputation on his right leg, just after recovering from pneumonia.
The recovery has been particularly challenging not only for some digestive issues while in the hospital but challenges with his balance, due to not having toes on the left foot. The rehabilitation clinic ended (June 19) and we will need more care at home. He will need some equipment and additional care and therapies that will not be covered by insurance.
The amount of medical bills coming soon is greater than what we could ever afford. For that reason, I am humbly asking for your support, to be able to provide my husband with the care he will need to recover. To help him on his journey to be able to walk again. If you know Joe, you know he is a fighter and has so many things he would like to still accomplish for himself and for our family.
Joe has overcome so many medical challenges already and I know that with his determination and your support, he will overcome this one as well. I thank you in advance for your generosity, for your monetary support and your prayers that God will grant us patience, as the road to recovery will not be easy or fast.
