Helping Joshua Chaffin
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Randy Bickmeyer, and I'm fundraising for Joshua Chaffin. Josh recently had a heart attack on January 24th. He was admitted to the hospital and is currently diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. He had another heart attack during a stress test earlier this week. Yesterday, Josh went into a lengthy surgery for a triple bypass and did very well. He is recovering now and is in good spirits. The hope is that his kidneys may regain some function with a stronger, healthier heart. He is doing everything that the medical staff asks of him and could even stand with help today for a few seconds. The doctors are unsure what is next for Josh, but it will probably include kidney dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant.
Josh has been out of work for several weeks now, and he is unsure if and when he might be able to return to work. The money raised will help Josh with the medical expenses he is incurring and provide him a cushion when he gets home, and hopefully ease the financial stress for a little while.
If you are unable to donate, please keep Josh in your thoughts and share this fundraiser. Being hospitalized is hard enough, but during these crazy Covid times, it makes it that much harder. He is currently only allowed one visitor, his mother, who has been by his side every step of this journey. If you would like to write any words of encouragement or well-wishes, we will be sure Josh is able to hear them.
