Helping Kacie with his battle against ALS

In December of 2019, Kacie was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis- a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.)
It all started back in early 2019. Kacie, an avid athlete and musician, started to get twitches in his arms and hands and had trouble opening a water bottle to take a drink. Not thinking anything of it, Kacie continued working, playing sports & recording music. Then, in the summer of 2019 while recording a song, Kacie noticed that he was starting to slur his speech more often and wasn't able to record music like he once was. This started to frustrate Kacie as he didn't know why this was happening; but he never once thought that he could become a victim of ALS at such a young age of 29. Given the symptoms, Kacie decided to visit the ALS clinic at the University of Rochester Medical Center. That’s when he realized he was in the fight for his life.
For those of you who know Kacie, know he’s always been extremely active. So going from being a 3-sport athlete in high school to being diagnosed with a disease that slowly decreases your muscle movement ability in such a short amount of time has presented Kacie with his most difficult challenge yet. But still, Kacie is the most optimistic person you'd ever meet. He's confident he will beat ALS.
Shortly after he was diagnosed, Kacie was forced to quit his job and move back home with his parents, Kyle & Jaimi. Fast-forward to a little more than a year later, and Kacie's symptoms continue to worsen. Although Kacie will always try to put on a strong face, his body is slowly deteriorating on him and there seems to be nothing to stop it. With no income, Kacie has been forced to rely on his savings and the help of his parents to get by. As his condition advances, medical bills continue to add up and it’s only going to get more costly from here. Between treatment expenses, medical equipment bills, and his daily living expenses, Kacie & his family need as much assistance as we can give to them. If possible, please consider donating to help Kacie in his fight against ALS ❤️
