Helping Kasi and Kids

Donation protected
Our dear friend and fearless warrior captain Sig Hewitt has been called home, leaving the Earth a little dimmer for the loss.  We are doing this to raise money to assist his wife and children with his final expenses.  Please help as you are able!

Our friend Kevin wrote this:

On June 24, 2018, the world lost a great man.

He wasn't famous. He wasn't the murdered, so his loss won't make the news. He wasn't killed by some superbug, so his death won't be studied by doctors. He wasn't a president or a king, so he probably won't be written about in history books.

He wasn't famous, but he was a great man nonetheless.
He wasn't a superhero. He couldn't turn invisible. He couldn't leap tall buildings in a single bound. He couldn't shoot lightning bolts from his eyes and fireballs out of his arse.

He wasn't a superhero, but he was a great man nonetheless.
The things he could do were things other have done before him. He could juggle. He could make amazing blueberry wine. He could sing loudly, if not entirely on key. He could make art on his computer. Many wouldn't recognize it as art, but it was.
The things he could do were things others have done, but he was a great man nonetheless.
He leaves behind a family. A wife named Kasi, who is sweet, and smart, and generous. He leaves behind two young kids. So young, they may have trouble remembering who their father was and what he was like when they reach my age.

When that time comes, I will tell them all about their father. About his kindness. His joviality. The way anyone who met him was instantly taken under his wing. The way he could learn fast and teach well, no matter what the subject. I'll tell them of his deeds as a pirate, and as a father, and as a leader. The way he demonstrated love to all, as a husband, as a brother, and as teacher. But most importantly, I'll tell them about their father as a friend.
I'll tell the kids all about how he was so important to me, and how he was so much to so many, and that even though he's gone they can be extremely proud of their father.
Because he was a great man, nonetheless.
