Thank you all for praying for my mom.
I wanted to give you an UPDATE on my mother.
As many of you know my mom was involved in a head-on collision where she sustained life threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. Her intestines were pushed into her lungs causing one of her lungs to collapse. She broke eight ribs and her diaphragm. Her intestines, bladder & liver were all torn. She bruised her spleen, broke her pelvis and her right leg (which now has a rod in it.) She is not able to walk or put any pressure on either leg until November. She will require several months of intense physical therapy to help her walk again. She has to have someone with her all the time. Between myself, my sisters and our stepdad we have made sure that she is never alone.
I feel terrible for my mom. The last couple of years have been incredibly rough for her. She has had numerous back surgeries and was in constant pain. She finally got to a point where her pain in her back was managed and was feeling good again. Then this happened...
She is trying to keep a positive attitude, but she is worried that she won't be able to walk or drive again. My mom is the strongest female I know. Her work ethic is superhuman to say the least. ALWAYS working overtime and never taking time for herself. When the bills started pouring in, so did a letter informing us that all of her sustained injuries would not be covered. It will be months before she's able to go back to work. If you can find it in your heart to help support our mom we would forever be grateful.
This accident was a devastating reminder of how precious life is and how quickly everything can change. We are grateful and blessed that she is still with us.
For the month of October my sisters and I will be hosting benefits to help raise money to support our mom so she can focus on a safe and healthy recovery without all of the financial stress.
My mom is not one to ever ask for a handout but she is in need of our support today.
Please join us in supporting our mom donating whatever you can
