Helping La Vida Mission help the Navajo Nation
Tax deductible
Please help the LaVida Mission, supported by the Southwest Paleo Society (SPS), the Zuni Dino Institute of Geology (ZDIG), and the Western Science Center (WSC) provide water, food, warm clothing, and propane to the Navajo we care for so very much about!
As many of you know, the Navajo Nation has been hit particularly hard by the Covid-19 virus. The LaVida Mission is located near many of the Navajo Chapter houses in the four corners area, and has served the Navajo community faithfully for many decades. They currently pump millions of gallons of water yearly to support the Navajo in their area, and are currently making food drops to many of the elderly in the Tribe who are concerned about leaving tribal lands, but trust the LaVida to bring them critical supplies.
LaVida is a unique faith based organization, serving everyone around them with a true spirit of kindness and care. As president of the Southwest Paleo Society, I (Sherman Mohler) remember when they reached out to a bedraggled group of half-drowned Geologist and Paleontogists they found camping in the desert after a raging storm. We (SPS, ZDIG, WSC) have spent the last 10 years working with the LaVida mission to support them in their mission, and to also help them teach Navajo youth a bit about the wonderful natural world that surrounds them. Now is a critical time with winter and Covid forcing the Dineh' into isolation. Your help WILL make a difference. Thank you!
