Where do I even start... I guess by asking you to read this and find it in the kindness of your heart to help the amazing person I am going to tell you about. Her name is Laura. I have known Laura for more than a decade. I met her when my kids were young, once we started talking we just never stopped. She is an amazing mother, wife, sister and friend. People talk about how life is not fair and let me tell you Life has been so unkind to this woman. What she & her family have endured in the last 5 years is the stuff of nightmares but through it all Laura continues to smile, ask people how they are doing, be kind and humble, listen, help others, teach children, go to school, work full time and has never complained about anything no matter how bad it has gotten. About 5 years ago Laura was diagnosed with colon cancer, the same disease that took the life of her mother and After vicious treatments she was given a clean bill of health. About 2 years ago as she was standing in her kitchen talking to her husband when he suddenly grabbed his chest and collapsed on the floor. He was rushed to ICU and spend the next month recovering from an aortic aneurysm. Laura never left his side. Some how miraculously he survived and was sent home. He made his recovery over the next year but on September 11th 2019 he laid down to take a nap and never woke up again. His family was devastated and is still trying to navigate life without him and Laura is now faced with taking on the task of two parents for her boys. She of course has held her head high and taken on all she can but tragedy has struck again, Laura felt ill a couple weeks ago and Her doctors informed her that her cancer has returned. While digesting this information Laura began to fall more and more ill at a rapid pace. On Saturday February 22 I rushed Laura to Swedish Medical Center because her liver was failing her. She was yellow from jaundice, extremely dehydrated, in an extreme amount of pain and deteriorating fast. The doctors performed an emergency surgery to place a stent in her liver and she is very slowly turning around. However, the cancer has not been able to be evaluated yet and the road ahead of her is going to be long. I’m asking for any one and everyone to please help myself and my husband Adam raise money to help this family. Even if it’s only $5 it will all go to help her with bills, food, medical bills and anything else that might come along. I wanted to make a video but I am not able to speak about her without crying. She means the world to us and she deserves The best in this life. Please please help us make her recovery easier. We appreciate you reading this story and we hope you will find it in your heart to donate to her. Please contact me directly if you want to help in some other way. Thank you so much!
