Helping Martin for a proper treatment

Dear friends and no friends,

My name is Pamela Pizzirani and I am the wife of Martin Hochstrasser who is in a very difficult health situation.

On the 8 of June I bring Martin to emergency in Can Misses hospital Ibiza, because of short breathing and a very swollen and painful belly. They made a tac, xray and straight away they saw he had a lot of water in the lungs and in the pericardium, so they keep him there.

After urgency they moved him to the floor to keep him there on observation. Bad luck it was just before the weekend and no doctors and no tests could be done, except some paracetamol what they give to him. Every day when I arrive the hospital I see him going worse and got really worried so I decided to stay the night and sleep next to him. Sunday night like 2 o’clock Martin had a respiratory collapse and thanks god I was there so I could act and call doctors fast and ask for help, and they brought him to intensive care. There after some hours they took the liquid out from the lungs and pericardium and he felt straight away much better and even got some appetite which he didn’t had in the days before.

But of course all of this came from a bigger problem, we got the result of the tac and xray, and they told us it was probably a lung cancer but they had to do more tests to be sure.

We wait time passed, the result was taking too long, and the water came back in the pericardium, so doctors start to worry and brought him to palma de Mallorca with helicopter.

In Palma we stayed a long time, 3 weeks, they had to do a special biopsy which it took at least 10 days from the time we arrived. During the waiting time, water increased and decide to make a pericardium window so the water can drain itself. After all this suddenly they decided to bring him back to Ibiza hospital but he was not ready for such a change and transport, so he arrived here very exhausted. Since then he have been waiting for appointment with the oncologist, and he still waiting... But his condition is getting worse, and in the meanwhile of waiting they have send him home which was also not a good idea. After two days home we had to call the ambulance because he was feeling bad and his heart beat was going to fast, we went to urgency and after some hours they send us back home again, but the next day same story but also short breathing this time. This time I insist they keep him in the hospital. Since then I try to call doctors in private clinics as I think he needs very fast caring, treatments and another opinions. Here they just let us wait and don’t do anything what makes him better or feeling better. So I called many hospitals and clinics to find a treatment which is not so invasive as a chemo therapy, but only private hospitals answer and can offer different treatments, like cyber knife or hipertermia therapy.

Of course all this cost money, so I am here to ask your help to collaborate with whatever is in your possibilities to give Martin support and a treatment and caring as he deserves and need right mow. In the moment he has no treatment at all, even not chemo, they just let us wait. The money we will use for going in a treatment in a private hospital, for some special transport which he needs because his health situation is very very delicate in the moment.

Maybe its even needed to bring him to Switzerland, as he is from there originally, all this cost money we don't have. So I appreciate all your support, small or big...
