Help Rebuild Mesa Farms
Donation protected
On September 1st, 2021 a powerful thunderstorm hit the area surrounding Capitol Reef, Hanksville and Caineville Utah causing unforeseen and devastating flooding to the area. One of the many lives impacted by this catastrophic weather event was our beloved Randy Ramsley of Mesa Farms whose farm was severely affected by the rising water. The Fremont River, which borders all of Mesa Farms, rose six feet in under an hour causing mass destruction along the way to both physical infrastructure and taking the lives of many of Randy’s cherished goat herd.
For those of you that have not had the opportunity to taste Randy’s phenomenal cheese or visit Mesa Farms, it is nothing short of magical. Randy makes old-world style cheeses with the utmost love and care for both the animals and surrounding land. Listening to Randy talk about his philosophy on food, the ecosystems which feed the goats thus feeding us, is sure to make the strongest tear up.
I am starting this fundraiser to help bring together the community around Mesa Farms. From friends and travelers, to the local food and farming community and to the dozens of chefs that Randy has hosted at the Caputo’s Annual Goat Camp, I am asking that if you have the means please consider donating. It will take years to rebuild and plenty of resources. The funds raised will be used to rebuild infrastructure that was damaged by the flooding, purchase new goats as well as invest in preparing for future weather events. Randy cannot do it without the help of all of us.
Anything will help. Thank you so much.
