Helping Miki home: Medical funding for car accident recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, October 19th at, approximately 10:28 AM there was a car accident on HWY 1 in the Rogers Pass. A small Nissan car lost control in hazardous conditions and collided with a B-train semi-truck. The truck driver was unharmed in the accident. Unfortunately, the driver of the car suffered numerous and severe injuries including, a brain injury with skull fractures, collapsed lung, multiple facial fractures, broken joints and bones, broken chest plate, fluids in the abdomen, and more.

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Mikiyas Hatton (Miki), was on his way to Calgary to further his considerable efforts in aiding his favourite charity. I have had the great pleasure of calling Mikiyas my brother for the last 3 years and I can say, Miki is undoubtedly a 1-in-a-million young man, who I am honoured to know. Not only is he a charming, charismatic, hard-working, humble soul, moved by the art of music. He is compassionate, altruistic, and noble, always working to lend a hand to those in need. The kind of person who reminds you of the good in this world. The kind of person who deserves all the goodness this world has to offer.

Before the accident, Miki had been working 2 jobs in order to buy his first car and move out on his own. He signed his first lease on October 1st just 18 days before the accident. While working 2 jobs Miki still managed to find time to give back and extend himself to friends, family, and those he doesn't even know. Now is the time I beg for the giving and caring to be returned to him. The road ahead for Miki will be long and challenging to heal from his injuries, the trauma of the accident and putting his life back together. Though he walks with God, family, and friends at his side, the financial burden of this journey will be more than he can manage. I am asking for aid in helping with medical/care bills, access to family, and getting him back to his home and the life he built for himself. Please help this very deserving brother, son, and friend on his journey home.
