Helping Mr. Earl

Something has been placed very heavy on my heart this past week. I’ve had the opportunity to meet an amazing man a couple months ago when I gave him a puppy after he had lost his other companion. Since then we have talked very often on the phone and he has become a very good friend of mine. This man’s name is Mr. Earl. I’m not sharing his last name due to privacy and he has no idea I’m even sharing this post. Mr. Earl is a Korean/Vietnam Vet and served in both wars. After the war he worked as a Sheriff in Texas. His wife passed 9 years ago and after he decided to move back home to where he was born in Florien. Last week his car broke down and is irreparable. I’ve been put in the position where I’m blessed enough to buy him a new car so he can go back and forth to his dr appointments and church. He will get it tomorrow. He lives alone, with his puppy I gave him. He has no electricity or water. Y’all, I get overheated just sitting outside in Louisiana heat for 5 minutes. He sits outside his camper he lives in all day alone, just him and his puppy. Did I mention Mr. Earl is 86 years old? I’m leaving a picture of where he is living and a picture of him and his fur baby he got from me. I asked him why he wanted to come back here and he told me “I wanted to be back home”. He was born in his old family house behind where his camper is.

I’m reaching out to anyone who can help me help Mr. Earl. I’d like to raise enough money for him to get septic put in so he can get lights. Also, if possible find him a nicer camper trailer. Anything would be a blessing. Also, I’d like to say that he has absolutely not asked me for any help. I just think for someone who has served his country for so many years and his community for being a sheriffs deputy deserves a little bit of appreciation for all he has done.
