Helping my parents with medical care
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jenny, and I live in Belgium, exactly 4,686 miles from my parents.
This afternoon my dad Chuck Putnam was in a terrible accident. He was working on renovating a new property and tearing down a building when he stumbled and fell backward off of a 5ft drop wall. He hit his head on the concrete and opened a 10-inch gash on the back of his head. He also broke his sternum.
He was alert enough to attempt to call 911, but he had no service so he got into his truck and drove about 10 miles and found MDOT workers on the side of the road. They called an ambulance and they took him to Kosciusko Hospital. Immediately they took him to a CT scan of his brain, and thank the good lord he had no brain bleeding as of yet. He has slight swelling in his brain. He had 35 staples put into his head.
He has no symptoms of a Traumatic Brain Injury, but he is going to have a long road to recovery.
I've never done this before and I'm not sure really how to ask, but my family needs help. My mom and dad are both permanently disabled. They live on SSI and don't have very good medical coverage. My dad can do some menial things, and he helps family & his good friend building or doing landscaping for cash here and there.
His injury is going to come with a lot of stress on my mother as she's not very equipped to take care of herself and him, and luckily we have the help of our wonderful family that will stop by to make sure he's okay.
I am asking for help with covering the costs of Prescriptions, Groceries for them, and additional doctor appointments that are dire for him not to miss. They have a 50-100$ copay every time they have to see the doctors. He also had to take an ambulance to the hospital, and the insurance only covers half of that.
I don't care if you give nothing or 1 dollar. The bare minimum is enough, but we need help. My family needs help. I can only send them so much money as I am currently out of work as well.
The only thing I want is for him to heal and not have to worry about making a Drs appointment or whether he can pick up his prescriptions or not.
Thank you for reading and thank you for being there for my family in our time of need. This money will go straight to my mother so that she can provide the care for him that he needs.
God bless you all.
