Helping one of our own ~ Funds for Christine

Being part of the Firefighter family, we often face times in our lives that are unforeseen and just as difficult for us as it is for the people that we are here to help. Christine is a Dispatcher and EMT with Columbia County Fire and she is one of the first behind the scene personnel to reach out to our firefighters. She is there everyday for all of us and now we want to show her we are there for her and her family.

Christine's husband Shane came down with COVID two weeks ago and then Christine tested positive for it a few days later. Luckily, their son has not been affected by it. Shane ended up in the hospital a few days later after Christine was diagnosed and she followed the next day. They never got to see each other again. Shane passed due to complications and now Christine is left to raise her son alone. She is doing things now that we never plan to do until we are way older and have raised our family. God had bigger plans, he needed Shane to help him. Even with that being said, that is big pill to swallow, harder knowing she has to raise her son alone, harder right now because she is out of work healing from COVID herself, harder knowing she will not see him again on this earth, harder knowing she will miss his smile, his laughter and his support. But she is strong and a fighter and we as her brothers and sisters will stand by her and with her all the way.

Times are hard now for all of us, COVID has taken from us and changed how we live on a day to day basis. But none of us want to be in Christine's shoes and lose the love of your life. There are still medical bills to pay, funeral expenses to pay, and day to day life expenses and challenges to face.
