Helping Onishi Family

For a number of our friends, this news may be a bit of a shock, I know it was for us. The day we celebrated our 30th Anniversary, March 18, 2019, we also celebrated Debbie's release from Seattle's Swedish Medical Center at Cherry Hill. We had spent the previous week at Harborview Hospital and Swedish Medical Center where Debbie had a brain tumor removed on March 15th. She was released on our anniversary, and we celebrated with tentative steps, a dead car battery and post surgery pain. We came home feeling thankful for many prayerful friends, family and co-workers. We felt the love and prayers of so many people that lifted us during an extremely challenging week. Debbie is recovering at home, but our road to recovery has only just begun. There are bound to be some "new normals" that we will have to adjust to, but we are truly thankful that we are entering this adventure together. We've been humbled by the love of so many amazing people. We are blessed.
We have started with a post brain surgery pathology meeting. It was a challenging day as our neurosurgeon informed us that Debbie has been diagnosed with a form of brain cancer that will require a treatment regiment of both chemo and radiation. We don't yet have a complete plan of action as we're still meeting with parts of the team through this week and next. Once again we've been shocked but not shaken. We've been disappointed but remain determined. We are truly thankful for excellent health care staff that has been amazing throughout this life curveball. We continue to be lifted and carried by our faith, and the faith of friends, family and beautiful people who continue to contend on our behalf. Thank you to so many who have reached out in support of our entire family. To all those that have reached out to us, our sincerest thanks. We've been blessed by your kindness and encouragement.
Yesterday, April 15th, we started radiation and chemo.  Chemo was ok but radiation was really rough.
This process is really overwhelming and a new way of life.  Please join me in supporting our dear friends with taking away the weight of finances so they can focus on Debbie getting well.
