"Helping Orlando Heal: Support for a Family in Need"

Dear friends and community,

My name is Claudia Garcia, and I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart. Recently, my husband, Orlando Umanzor Rodriguez, experienced a traumatic and violent attack while working at the gas station where he serves as an attendant.

On March 8, 2024, Orlando was subjected to a brutal assault that left him with severe injuries, including lacerations to his face and head trauma. The aftermath of this incident has been incredibly challenging for our family. The perpetrator was apprehended after committing another tragic crime, (killing his own mother) further adding to the distressing nature of this situation.

Orlando is not just my husband; he is a dedicated family man who works tirelessly to provide for our household, which includes our 13-year-old and 4-year-old children. However, the injuries he sustained have rendered him unable to work fully, leaving us in a state of financial strain.

Even though Orlando attempted to return to work just a week after the attack, he continues to struggle with vertigo and panic attacks, making it incredibly difficult for him to resume his duties.

I am reaching out to you all for assistance during this trying time. Any support, whether it be financial or emotional, would mean the world to us. Your kindness and generosity will help alleviate the burden we are currently facing, allowing us to focus on Orlando's recovery and the well-being of our family.

El 8 de marzo de 2024, Orlando fue víctima de una brutal agresión que lo dejó con graves lesiones, incluyendo laceraciones en el rostro y traumatismo craneal. El desenlace de este incidente ha sido increíblemente difícil para nuestra familia. El agresor fue detenido después de cometer otro crimen trágico, añadiendo aún más a la naturaleza angustiosa de esta situación.

Orlando no es solo mi esposo; es un hombre de familia dedicado que trabaja incansablemente para mantener nuestro hogar, que incluye a nuestros hijos de 13 y 4 años. Sin embargo, las lesiones que sufrió lo han dejado incapaz de trabajar completamente, dejándonos en un estado de tensión financiera.

A pesar de que Orlando intentó regresar al trabajo solo una semana después del ataque, sigue luchando contra el vértigo y los ataques de pánico, lo que dificulta enormemente su capacidad para reanudar sus funciones.
