Helping our Friend George Dunphy

Anyone who has ever met George Dunphy (aka Captain BBQ) knows instantly they have gained an incredible friend and feel they have known him forever. Hard working is an understatement. Nights/ weekends, he is always on the go. Whether it is at work, SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club where he is the Shotgun Director or at a backyard barbeque he is always the first to offer help to anyone who needs it, regardless of how busy he is or how long he has known you.

Right now, he needs our help.

Last Monday, June 7th, George suffered a stroke and was taken to Albany Medical Center where he currently remains. They found two blood clots and are working hard to stabilize his blood pressure and get the bleeding in his brain under control so he can be transferred to Sunnyview for rehab. He has lost the peripheral vision in one eye and will need daily intensive therapy for physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation for many months to come as well as eye surgery in the future.

George is a self-employed carpenter and had no disability coverage for such a catastrophic event. Right now, we don’t know when or if he will be able to return to work. As the primary income earner for his household, he has nothing coming in and the bills are already mounting. We are looking to help George with his mortgage, household and vehicle expenses as well as utility bills while he works hard to recover.

Please keep George and his family in your thoughts and prayers for a miraculously speedy recovery and give as you are able to help them. No amount is too small.
