Helping our loved one Niccie

Hello family and friends,

I wanted to reach out and ask for help for my mom and my dad. This request comes hard, as I normally don’t ask for help like this, however I need to express some concerning news. My mom, Niccie, has been in the hospital of OHSU for a few weeks now, because her cancer had returned. It is not predicted at this time of when she should be coming home, for there is a long road ahead of her. In her two week stay, she has undergone three surgeries related to the removal of her cancer, and the reconstruction of the area they have been working on. I will refrain from too much details behind what they have done so far, as it is a lot… but to give you an idea of some of what she had been undergoing, the first surgery she was scheduled for was supposed to be the only one, with the expectant length of 10 hours… it went for 22/23 hours STRAIGHT .. the second and third came as an unpleasant surprise but were not as long as the first. I would be happy to shed light on more details with you directly, please do not reach out to my parents for those details. I ask that you reach out to send personal messages she is looking forward to reading during her recovery. Please do not be offended or upset if you do not receive a swift reply from her or my dad at this time, when they can they will get back to you! I am reaching out because they really do need our help.. both have been in the hospital this entire time, and my dad is living off limited funds and credit cards.. I want to help relieve their stress by banning together with you to help support bills they are pushing off, money for food and any living supplies he may need while he stays with her for more time than we had hoped. I am hopeful we can reach our goal to also have an opportunity to relieve stress for their return home. This has been .. a lot for us and so much more for her, but I know with your love and support, even if it is not financially, will bring her beautiful smile back and will lift her soul.

Update: She has undergone 5 surgeries, with a 6th to be scheduled in seven weeks as she has  caught COVID in the hospital and they have Covid Guidelines that require a surgery to be scheduled that far out. She has also overcome 5 Blood Transfusions and a blood infection from her Picc line. 

She is a true warrior and needs as much support as we can all provide. Thank you for your help during this hard time
