Helping out Laura Curtis in her time of need

Hey I’m Ryan, Husband of Laura’s oldest daughter Tammy.

Laura is going through some tough times these days (aren’t we all?) well for those who don’t know Laura started feeling ill  around Christmas time when she came from Yorkton to Humboldt for a visit so she went for a trip to the Doctor when she got home which led to being sent for some tests. When the test results came back she was referred to an Oncologist just to find out in very short order that she was being given 5-11 months to live due to stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer- just like that Laura’s whole world has changed, the one day plans have now become now or never plans!,the things that can be done some other time become the things that need to be done now!

Laura has raised 3 amazing daughters and a son and is the proud YiaYia to 3 grandchildren all who have pooled together in combination with countless other friends and family to help her go to and from appointments and help sustain something of a lifestyle for her but these avenues have become exhausted and as a family are reaching out on Laura’s behalf to ask a bigger ring of people for their help.

Laura has lived her entire life helping people in any way she could, she has done countless fundraising and volunteer work, anyone who knows Laura even a little knows that she is Hometown proud, She would give you a dollar despite having $1.05 to her name and she is the person who will make sure the entire room is taken care of before taking care of herself. Laura has even donated her hair to help fundraise for cancer in the past.

We are calling on anyone who she has employed or worked with over the years,

friends, family and neighbours.

Funds will be first be going towards all the travel expenses associated with treatment and to help keep her utilities on at home.
