Our collective is rooted in the belief that every voice matters, and that gender equality cannot be achieved without addressing the unique challenges faced by Romani communities. By bringing together a diverse group of experts, activists, and advocates, we aim to create a platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and action that drives meaningful change.

Since 2022, we have carried out several internal capacity building workshops, social media campaigns and represented the Collective and Roma feminist views at different expert meetings and social events, such as the Council of Europe or the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

However, due to our limited funding and different geographical locations we have not been able to bring all members into a common physical space yet. The purpose of the fundraising is to organize an in-person meeting this year in Brussels, Belgium.

During the meeting, we aim:

to discuss strategical matters to advance the position of Roma gender equality professionals
to talk about the future of the Collective
to evaluate the past 1 year and the work that we have done so far
to take care of our mental well-being by spending some great time together as Roma sisters
and finally to organize a creative flashmob in front of the European Parliament to address the oppression of Roma women and girls within the European Union.
