***UPDATE ON SADIE***
Thanks to all of your generous support Sadie received her first treatment last week! Though the treatment is painful thanks to Sadie’s sweet cooperative nature she is tolerating it well. THANKS TO ALL OF US Sadie found her forever home working with recovering addicts. She has begun working with clients and she has a gift for helping them understand what it feels like to be emotionally connected in a genuinely healthy way.
THAT SAID Sadie does not have enough money to complete her treatment. Please help her by sharing her story. We are so close to curing her. THANK YOU!
Previously Sadie had been a lesson horse but she wasn’t very good at this job because she was nervous and quick. It is likely very painful for her to have a bit in her mouth. It’s no wonder she was tense in this career.
Recently Sadie has been on a trial period to see if she has a career as a therapy horse. Specifically she has been learning to be an equine assisted psychotherapy horse for people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Sadie is very well suited to this work and now has a very promising career ahead of her. So Sadie has found her place in the world and could be helping people recover from addictions for years BUT her painful sarcoma continues to grow. The treatment center where Sadie lives and works does not have the funds to treat and cure Sadie.
THE COSTS
Sadie’s sarcoma has progressed to the point of needing 3-4 treatments of freezing the sarcoma followed by weeks of applying an expensive chemo cream. The cost for each of these treatments is approximately $500. Following these treatments she will need surgery to remove any remaining cancer cells. The total cost of the treatments plus surgery is $5000. Apart from this Sarcoma Sadie is a very healthy sound horse who has many years left to help people recover from drug and alcohol addiction.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please help Sadie by donating to her cause. If she receives the treatments she will have a healthy productive life helping so many people. Unfortunately if she does not receive the treatments she needs the treatment center cannot keep her and once again she will not have a home and will still have this painful cancer. Sadie needs to begin treatment by December 15th or she will lose her place in the treatment facility. She may end up being put to sleep as she is running out of options. Thank you so much for any help you give.
