Hello everyone, I am Sonia’s caregiver Wright Still. I’m doing a fund raiser for her birthday to help pay for the four hour drive to and four hour drive back from the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida every month for the past year. Therefore, give me a couple of minutes to get the fundraiser going. This past week Sonia went to New York to see a optometrist at Mount Sinai Hospital for a second opinion on her eyes. For the past four months Sonia has been taking chemo with a lot of side effects: she has osteoporosis which caused Paget’s disease, (chronic disease of elderly people characterized by deterioration of bone tissue, especially in the spine, skull, or pelvis, sometimes causing severe pain. and has another problem being she’s Catabolic (cannot absorb nutrients) and has been fighting a rare lung disease called Mycobacterium Szulgai which has been growing since 2012, hepatitis C, rheumatoid arthritis, scoliosis, Anemia caused by cancer in her thyroid. She still has severe on-going spasms, No energy, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, fatigue, losing hair and nails, chronic shingles, gout, a feeding tube, has had 59 Proceedures due to many complications with tubes in her body the past twenty two years, gets her tubes changed every three months from the acids in her body. four cancers, pretty sick, full of pain, cannot touch her at all without her feeling pain, being treated as a very complicated patient at the Cleveland Clinic for 18 years. Sonia keeps her faith strong in the Lord, encourages the faith, stays positive, sets goals, eats right and loves life to the fullest.
