Helping Summer Rose

Anyone who knows Summer is blessed. From the first moment you meet her, you are enveloped in her loving spirit. She is warm, generous, kind, and sees good in everyone.

She has been in a hard battle with Acral lentiginous melanoma which began in a freckle on her toe. A freckle that was there at birth. After having her toe amputated, the cancer metastasized to her groin lymph nodes and she had several surgeries to remove the invasive tissue. 

Next, the cancer showed up as a brain tumor for which she bravely underwent neurosurgery. Now, the beastly disease has shown itself again as multiple inoperable tumors in her brain and the top of her spine.

Throughout this illness, I don't think anyone has heard Summer complain or ask, "Why me?" She has plowed ahead standing up to every challenge that has come her way.

She has continued studying and training to be a firefighter and now has only one class left to fulfill that dream. The plan is that she will finish up next week. 

Finally, in May, Summer married the love of her life, Kim, who has been by her side this whole time. Anyone who attended their ceremony will never forget the sparkle in their eyes which remains to this day.

Summer is also surrounded by family who loves her and prays daily for her healing. Her momma and daddy, Jennifer and Flash, along with her brother, Colt, love her more than words.
