Helping Tami through her cancer journey

Do you have a friend who's been in your life for so long that when you have to answer how long you've been friends you seriously think--forever! I can't remember a time without her! Tami is that friend for me. We met through a mutual friend when Tami was 19 and I was 21. And while that mutual friend is long gone. . .35 years later, Tami is the first person I want to call when something truly wonderful or truly terrible happens in my life.
And I'm that person for her. We have had so many calls between us. She called me when her son was born, and then her daughter. She called me when she got divorced. She called me when her mother died, and then her father. She called me on September 05
to tell me she has breast Cancer. Tami is the most giving person I know. Every job she has ever had involves caring for people and as a friend, she is always the first to do something special or remember some tiny detail--she's not just a caretakeer, she is genuinely caring. Of course, she's not used to being the one cared for, but--she needs us.
We are beyond grateful that Tami's breast Cancer was caught early, but her surgery, the time off of work, and physical, emotional, and financial strains are going to be a lot. That's why I organized this GoFundMe, so that all the people in Tami's life who she has cared for--and about--can chip whatever they can to ease her burden. I look forward to many more calls back and forth between me and Tami--sharing our lows, but also our highs. I look forward to a time when we all look back on this as a moment in time that was hard, but when we came together, and it all worked out.
