helping teachers support healthy education spaces
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all safe and enjoying the summer break! With that said, it is back to school in the upcoming weeks and the COVID-19 pandemic has made this an unprecedented times in many respects, but especially for the upcoming school year.
My desire would be that all children and teachers are kept safe as possible when they return to the classroom this fall, I am asking for your help in donating much needed school supplies and PPE, if you can. Much of these supplies will not be funded by the school boards and unfortunately, will be the burden of teachers if at all.
In order to keep kids safe as they pivot to a new learning environment, they need supplies such as:
clipboards,
pencils,
individual pencil sharpeners,
reusable bags to store outdoor cleaning supplies,
personal dry erase boards and markers,
hand sanitizers,
disinfectant wipes and
small refillable squeeze bottles
I am asking you to support and to please share with your network of contacts if you think that they may be able to contribute in supplying these items. Please note, for legal reasons, I cannot accept cash donations or supplies values over $200.
Please note, that while this is something I hold near and dear to my heart, this is my own personal call to action with no association to lululemon. This is completely up to you if you can help and support.
I’ve included a letter from a teacher asking for your help to make the school environment safer! Thank you for supporting this cause. I truly look forward to hearing from you and hopefully together we can help make it easier for everyone going back to a new school year.

Hello,
This is a very difficult time for public education. The government’s plan to keep regular class sizes will make it extremely difficult to keep our children safe. Many schools have poor ventilation and not enough space to socially distance the students properly. Teachers will do their best to keep the children safe, but this will be a difficult and expensive task. As a teacher, I know that many of my colleagues have already begun to make individual learning bags and purchase materials to make the reopening of our schools safer. Keeping our children safe should not be funded by teachers. We need your help!
Here are some items we need to make outdoor learning possible: clipboards, pencils, individual pencil sharpeners and reusable bags to store outdoor learning supplies.
In lieu of having students share the use of classroom blackboards, whiteboards or smart boards, and to limit the sharing of supplies in the classroom, they will need: personal dry erase boards and dry erase markers, individual pencil sharpeners, and small refillable squeeze bottles (that the teacher can fill to allow the class to sanitize all at once).
Some teachers are creating safer spaces to work with small groups in classes where masks are optional and trying to improve ventilation in the classes with these items: HEPA air purifiers, plexiglass dividers, and even pvc piping and clear shower curtains (see picture enclosed).
Thank you,
Gwen D’Ambrosio
