The social media that gives back

Hello my name is Shane Wolf.  I would like to start this campaign with a very brief explanation about who I am and the reasons why I am trying to set up a gofundme. 

At the beginning of 2019 I was illegally evicted from my private rented   accommodation by my landlady that had put the house up for sale without any notification. Most of my adult life I have struggled with severe depression and other mental health issues  and in the last few years I also developed severe psoriasis which has made it near on impossible to hold down a full time job.
Being street homeless with these health conditions was hell but with the help of my two beautiful doggos, charities and my love of music saved me from taking a darker path and my life changed at the end of last year when I was finally able to secure a small flat.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!


Music is a powerful force. It is one of the few things left in our world that is universally loved by most from any walk of life and by all races. Music has the power to evoke many emotions to heal and most importantly unite people who may never of crossed paths. As for Me it has been a rock I've used it to both relax when times are hard and as a form of therapy to help me keep my mental health at a somewhat stable level when struggling with one of my episodes. 

With the current covid-19 situation many live music venues will be suffering and some sadly may even have to close their doors for good but I am optimistic that in the hopefully near future that will come to change and that the music scene around the world will once again flourish and this is where I hope to play a part.

Enough of my rambling the plan!

To create a self sufficient and fun social enterprise website for musicians and venues of all genres with an optional donation based rewards system that will make finding live music events, venues, event organisers and musicians availability simple and quick with just a few clicks. Donations will go into a large funding pool in which as the website grows and donations accumulate venues, bands and charities can apply for small grants to aid in their growth or purchase of equipment.

Here I will list just a few of the ideas that i wish to integrate into the website.

· To create a tool to make the discovery of live music venues easier for entertainment tourists that would otherwise fly under the radar with a built in route/travel planner.

· To create a tool for live event venues to directly advertise forthcoming events to all entertainment tourists interested in the genres of music offered in their city/cities of interest.

 · To create a complimentary app in which people can plan nights out, listen and book artists whilst out on the move.

To  develop a widget that can be used in conjunction with live streaming software like Streamlabs, OBS and Mixer which will not only allow streamers and content creators to have access to royalty free music for their streams but also potentially help increase the fan base for artists on the site. This widget when clicked upon will  take the viewer directly to the artists profile page on the website.

What kind of website? how will it work and how can it benefit?


The website itself will be a multipurpose social network site solely for bands, artists,DJ's and live music venues to create profiles but can still be accessed  by the general public to discover new bands and music venues that they may not of heard of before.

Each profile made on the website will have its very own calender in which bands and artists can mark their availability to perform dates on the same will go for music venues to upload posters of upcoming events. These can be searched via a built in search engine on the website.

I will list a couple of scenarios on how this would work as an example.

A music venue/promoter is looking to set up a glam rock night and the night before the show they get a call saying the band they booked can not perform as the drummers dog has chewed up His drumsticks and they need to replace the band fast! They can then use the search tool  Rock-Glam rock- Nottingham- 28th july. The built in search in engine will then scan all the members profiles on the website and shortlist all the bands in the area by the selected criteria and availability date making the job to replace the band much faster and smoother without having to click on random profile pics hoping to find the sound required (here's looking at you myspace).

With a system like this in place it would also help newly formed bands to get discovered and out onto the live music circuit.

Another quick example would also be in say a new uni student arrives in a city of no knowledge of the night life and they fancy a night on the town they could use the same process to discover what venues are available to their choice of music taste and should they be using the app i plan to have built to accompany the website they will be able to use the route planner built in to help them locate the premises of choice.

This process I believe could also help bring more traffic and revenue to the venues therefore aiding the live music scene as a whole.



Why am I crowdfunding?


From a young age I was taught that if I wanted something enough then I should earn it and that has stuck with me since I was little.
My dream in life is to achieve something that I can be proud of as well as help those lesser fortunate than myself ive never believed in begging even when on the streets so even starting a campaign to ask for support has been very hard for me to do. Usually I would sell the Big Issue magazine as a source of income to buy my necessities but with the current covid-19 situation my selling days have been ground to a halt. During the lockdown I used the money that I had saved up from selling the magazine to help fund the start of my website mytalentseeker.com. I have so far been able to rent a server for a few years bought hosting/security and a domain name however I have now hit a brick wall and realised that I do not have the skills and can not make my vision a reality without swallowing my pride and asking for financial support. 

Any support I can get to make my vision a reality would mean the world to me and should my endeavour become a success then I will finally be able to give back something  not just to the charities that have helped me along on my journey but be able to put back something into the communities and the music scene that has kept me going all these years in a bid to help keep it alive and thriving.

How will I use the funds?

Any monies raised by this campaign will be spent on website and app development by  company's that specialises in that area built from the ground up with special fun features to make the website unique and engaging. Promotion and advertisement to extend awareness for the website. Website logo design by a professional designer and widget development. I will also be sure to keep regular updates on the progress of this project.

I have tried to be as detailed as possible in the hope that my plan is easier to understand I really wish to be able to make a difference and any kind of support even something as little as a share to your social media will go a long way towards helping not only struggling charities and live music venues but to our music loving communities. I hope that should I be able to reach my goal then this website I hope to be the stepping stone that I will need to work towards other plans that I have such as a no-kill animal shelter that provides training on site and even affordable housing solutions for those effected by homelessness both pre during and post covid 19.  The time now to change our world has been long over due and by artists supporting artists and the communities and charities. This non for profit project should i recieve the support to make it a reality I hope to be able to join the frontline in creating a better world for our people and as much as a simple post on social media accounts would go so far in helping me bring this into reality but I could really use everyones support to get the word out!
