Helping the Copelands Through a High-Risk Pregnancy

Let me tell you a little about my dear friends, Tanner and Amanda. They are the most grounded young couple that I have the pleasure to know. Their love story is so precious. I feel honored to share a fraction of it here with you now.
Each of them loves the other in a way that is so selfless. The choices they make are mutually aligned and for the good of their family united. Tanner says “All my life growing up, it was wild so when Amanda came along, things seemed a little more peaceful.”
In 2020 Tanner and Amanda were blessed with the news of a baby on the way!
Baylor was born and Tanner and Amanda blossomed into parenthood. Baylor is so very loved and downright adored by them and so many others. He has grown into a bright little boy. Amanda says “I’m constantly amazed by Baylor. His intelligence shines through in everything he does—he’s always curious and eager to learn. His strong opinions show a confidence and individuality that I deeply admire. What really stands out is his optimism; he has this incredible ability to see the bright side of things and brings a sense of joy and excitement to our lives. Watching him grow and develop his own unique personality fills me with so much pride and love. Every day with him is a new adventure, and I cherish every moment.”
They’re truly amazing parents.
The Copelands are again blessed with a pregnancy! They’ve been planning on growing their family and are elated by the newest blessing. The male genes run strong and they find out it’s a boy… but wait… hold on… there’s two heart beats and two tiny babies they’re seeing on the ultrasound. TWIN BOYS!!!
A few months into their pregnancy they were struck with scary news. Something they couldn’t with all the positivity they possess be happy about -they have monochorionic-monoamniotic twins. The baby boys share a common placenta and a singular amniotic sac as well. This form of twins is very rare and represents only 1% of identical twins and the last set our metro area physicians treated was back in 2020. Due to a shared amniotic space their umbilical cords have become entangled. If this becomes severe, the blood supply to the babies could be compromised. But they are otherwise healthy –praise Jesus! To keep them safe Amanda will soon be hospitalized for close monitoring and care of both her and the babies. She will spend up to 6 weeks there before they bring the babies earth-side prematurely to meet their parents and big brother.
The pregnancy and transition for their family in growing from 3 to 5 won’t come without concern, stress or a financial strain that is greater than expected. Amanda will have a complete loss of wages for the extended time she is in the hospital, and beyond, once she delivers the babies. They will need the tender specialized care of the NICU unit until they are strong. Tanner will not be able to work as much as usual either. He will be stepping up for the Copeland team and taking on single-dad-life while Amanda has to be hospitalized.
We want to support them –to be a pillar for them to lean on. One enormous way to contribute is by reducing their burden with a donation. Big or small it will help! Even $5 makes a difference so please know there is no amount too small.
They would also covet your prayers for a successful rest of her pregnancy, for the boys to remain safe in her womb, for their cords to not be tangled any further, for their growth and development to continue as long as possible before they have to be delivered. Please pray for their delivery to be as close to their due date as possible and for that experience to be calm, planned and without emergency for Amanda and ALL her boys’ sake. Please also pray for Tanner and Baylor as they navigate home life without mom there for a few weeks or months.
Thanks so much for reading the Copeland Mono Mono Twins story and for considering the help you could provide.
A message to Tanner, Amanda and Baylor from your CGG family! “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
