Helping the Dogs & Cats of Boracay

Donation protected
Hi I’m Jess!

I recently visited the beautiful island of Boracay, Philippines

When I first arrived, I was immediately concerned by the shear amount of strays on the island. I took to social media to find if there were any established shelters or local charities that I could lend a hand too in my short time on the island.

I was put in contact with one of the ladies that has just set up BAARC - (Boracay Animal Adoption and Rescue Centre) they’re the first established charity on the island that aims to combat this rising concern.

A couple of days before I landed here, they had just done their first rescue mission - saving 26 animals from euthanasia.

Due to the over population of strays on the island, the animals will be captured & euthanised if not claimed by their owners or rescued by BAARC. So although this first rescue was absolutely amazing, there are still hundreds more animals that will need their help.

So this group of volunteers are working hard to rescue and re-home these animals and many many others, however they have only just started this journey, they’re completely unfunded, and rely on the help of others, using temporary land to house the animals until they can find and build a more permanent residence to provide shelter to the masses of animals that need their help, and to be able to expand to help as many as possible and grow.

As you can imagine, a lot of the animals the animals that need rescuing are in need of medical attention; either from being mistreated, neglected, being injured or illness. It is also important to get the animals vaccinated, dewormed, deflead and most importantly to be neutered to at least try and control the over breeding on the island.

So, together with your help we are fundraising to make this possible. And give these animals a second chance at life.

No donation is too little, all all profits will go immediately to the charity themselves, any contribution made will be used towards food, medicine and shelter

To put into perspective:
2X vaccinations for 10 dogs is 1500PHP = £21
One can of dog food is 50-100PHP = £0.70-£1.40

I know times are tough for us all, but if we could all spare even just a small amount - together we could make a real difference
