Helping the Healer to Heal
Donation protected
Judy Lilly is an inspirational healer and wisdom teacher; a world traveler, nutritionist and entrepreneur. On September 10, she suffered a debilitating accident. Almost eight weeks later, Judy tells us:
“The wreck was a block and a half from my house. I don’t remember when exactly I lost consciousness but I came back hearing horns. My head was down, my eyes closed. I had time to start opening my eyes before I struck—head on—a large truck sitting in the turn lane. I am so sorry. I am grateful he is unhurt. My car was totaled. I remember very little except the number of people who came to the car to help me. Again, so very grateful to each of them.
“I was transported to the hospital where I stayed seven days in trauma care and another seven in rehab with four broken ribs, a broken right wrist, two broken vertebrae in my lumbar spine and a broken right leg, in which I now have two plates. Post concussive treatment will start in a few weeks. The amazing thing is that I will be able to walk!”
Judy is home now. Her husband, Dan, her children, Deserae and Chris, and other family members and friends are caring for her. Physical therapy and other treatments are ongoing. As might be expected with trauma this extensive, she says additional “little physical odds and ends are popping up.” Emergency room fees and charges for seven days in trauma care come to $300,000 already. Bills for rehab have not yet started coming in.
Thankfully, Judy has health insurance but of course will owe co-pays and percentages of all medical bills plus the deductible. Then, there are costs of a car and legal fees. As a small businesswoman, Judy has no coverage for lost wages or lost retirement contributions, and no way to keep up with things while meeting the challenges of this ongoing medical trauma.
At 68, Judy was preparing to launch the first phase of a new business, providing custom-made, organic herbal tinctures to people via her envisioned website. These specialized tinctures offer a new type of energy balancing to match the changing energies of the earth in these times. There’s nothing quite like them. This business was also to support her eventual retirement.
