Helping The Houlihans

In August 2018,  Mike was involved in a serious car accident resulting from a seizure.  After testing, it was discovered that the cause of the seizure was a brain tumor.  Mike is now currently fighting stage 2 glioma.

Mike is an amazing husband, father, coworker, and college volleyball coach.  Mike is a fighter, but he and his family need our help.  Mike has had to leave coaching and his beloved Beacons for the next year to focus on his health. 

Mike is currently receiving treatment in Boston, but with that comes mounting medical bills.  Additionally, due to his seizure, Mike is not allowed to drive and has had to frequently stay in hotels when he needs to be close to the city for work or treatment.  He also has to rely on bus and train service to get back and forth from NH where he and his family live.  The goal of this page is to show our support and help cover some of these expenses while Mike gets healthy. 

I know the UMass Boston and the volleyball community will step up to the challenge and help Mike,  Melissa, and Liam.  Any amount will help!  Please share this to help spread the word!
